With the transfer now complete, Drinčić links up with his new teammates as preparations continue for the upcoming campaign.
Standing at 1.95 metres, Drinčić is a commanding central defender renowned for his physical presence, composure in possession and leadership qualities. Comfortable organising the back line while building attacks from deep, he adds both experience and stability to Hougang United's defensive unit.
Born in Podgorica, Montenegro, Drinčić came through the youth system of Budućnost before beginning his professional career with Iskra Danilovgrad. He made more than 150 league appearances for the club and was appointed captain at just 18 years of age, underlining his leadership qualities from an early stage of his career.
In 2021, he joined Sutjeska Nikšić, where he helped the club lift the 2021/22 Montenegrin First League title while also featuring in UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers. A move to Belarusian side Shakhtyor Soligorsk followed in 2023 before he continued his career in the Indian Super League with Kerala Blasters.
During two seasons in India, Drinčić established himself as one of the league's most consistent defenders, making over 40 appearances and contributing important goals from defence. His performances earned him a move to Thai League 1 side BG Pathum United, where he gained further experience at one of Southeast Asia's leading clubs.
On the international stage, Drinčić has represented Montenegro at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, captaining the Under-21 national team during the UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign.
Now, after building an impressive career across Montenegro, Belarus, India and Thailand, Drinčić begins a new chapter with Hougang United. His arrival strengthens the Cheetahs' defence with proven quality, leadership and valuable international experience ahead of the new Singapore Premier League season.
